PRACTICE
Kemmerly Thomas is a senior shareholder in the firm and practices from the Tallahassee and Thomasville offices. She is the managing partner of the Thomasville, Georgia office. Kem concentrates her practice in the areas of workers' compensation defense, lien resolution and employment issues. She is Board Certified in Workers' Compensation law and has been given the rating of "AV Preeminent," the highest rating possible, by her peers through Martindale Hubbell. She also counsels employer/carriers in matters involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, wrongful termination, sexual harassment and FMLA. Kemmerly maintains a significant appellate practice. Among her clients are employee leasing companies, construction companies, governmental entities and national manufacturers.
Kemmerly Thomas provides specialized legal services to her clients including provision of legal advice, drafting and editing of employment applications, post-hire medical questionnaires and drug testing policies. She also concentrates a large portion of her practice in working with employee leasing companies, including but not limited to, drafting client contracts, employee handbooks and company policies.
Kemmerly Thomas was selected and named in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of Florida Super Lawyer - an achievement only given to 5% of Florida attorneys. Kemmerly Thomas is an annual speaker on workers' compensation issues at the Florida Workers' Compensation Educational Conference and Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation, Annual Educational Conference, as well as numerous other seminars around the southeast. She also authors brochures to guide employers on workers' compensation issues.
