Firm Attorneys Participating in 66th Annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference
The 66th Annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, August 21st-24th. Several of our firm partners will be participating as moderators, panelists or event organizers.
Jim McConnaughhay, General Chairman of the Conference, will be welcoming attendees with a few words on the morning of the 22nd.
Jacque Blanton Steele and Tracey Hyde are both organizers for the E. Earle Zehmer National Moot Court Competition to be held on the 21st & 22nd. Nine schools will be competing.
Kem Thomas is participating in the Case Law Update panel. The update is one of the most important portions and the best attended programs of the Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference.
Steve Coonrod will serve as moderator for a breakout session for adjusters entitled, "Challenging Medical Legal Topics: The Key to Successful Claims’ Handling," in which a neurosurgeon, orthopaedic surgeon and pain management specialist will provide insight on treatment and address issues relevant to every workers' compensation case.
Lou Stern will serve as a panelist for a breakout session for healthcare providers entitled, "Pharmaceutical Dilemmas: Drug Interaction, Addiction or Diversion," providing answers and discussion about the many questions raised when prescribing for and treating a workers' compensation patient.
Susan Marks will be a panelist for a breakout session for adjusters entitled, "An Adjuster’s Ethical Approach to Medical Management," strengthening and testing attendees' knowledge of ethical approaches to handling common medical management issues.
Sean O'Connor will be a panelist for a breakout session for attorneys entitled, "Focus on Ethics and Professionalism," providing a number of real world examples and how to properly address them.
