Claimant entitled to an independent medical examiner
outside of the managed care arrangement where the claim
for benefits was controverted in its entirety by the
employer/carrier. Where the issue is causation,
managed care does not control the obtaining of an IME
requested by the claimant, i.e., where causation or
compensability is questioned, the claimant is entitled
to an independent medical examination by an examiner he
selects whether it is in the managed care arrangement
or not.
