Legislative Oversight

Historically, workers’ compensation has been a significant subject that has been addressed by the Florida Legislature during its annual sessions.  With the home office of the firm in Tallahassee, the state’s capital, the firm prides itself in being able to follow the progress of proposed legislation on a daily basis through the legislative process in both houses of the Legislature.  This daily report includes meeting dates of different committees considering workers’ compensation legislation and, when appropriate, summaries of the actual meetings with comments and an analysis of proposed changes in the law. At the end of each year’s session, a summary of workers’ compensation bills that have passed will be developed.  Bills that did not pass will also be summarized, since they oftentimes are a precursor of future legislative action.  When priced by NCCI or other services, the estimated costs or savings to the system when considering proposed changes will be also provided.
